Our Head Coach, Sally Ruddle, gives her overview of the season...

Undoubtedly the best thing about this season has been the move inside to St Marys. It has been so good to train inside, so big thanks to all those that made that happen. This has enabled us to do more team drills and play, which I feel has paid dividends in matches. All three teams finished higher in their leagues than previous seasons, with Storm and Thunder both finishing third in their leagues and Lightening finishing fifth. Lightening got off to a slow start but won 8/10 of their final games.

The junior section has continued to grow, with over 30 girls in our under 11 section. To ensure that the girls can learn the basics it is important that we have helpers, so I am really grateful to all those who give up their time to make this happen. It is great to have the older girls acting as role models and if anyone would like to get involved please let me know.

This season for the first time we entered an under 14 team In the South West regional league. It was fantastic to see the girls take on this challenge and they improved so much over the season, playing teams from Cornwall, Devon and Somerset.

Huge credit needs to go to everyone on the committee who deal with everything that needs to happen for the club to function and I am really grateful for the support they give me in coaching the club.
